Control desks range from simple single preset, one fader per dimmer channel , units to two preset and memory desks with effects built in. Some desks are analogue, some DMX. Analogue require one control multicore per 6 channels of dimming, although on larger systems a 30 way control multicore can be employed with links at each end. DMX 512 on the other hand require only one control lead which links all the dimmers together. If you have any doubts on which system you require, please ask
