These machines use a special fluid pumped through a heater which vaporises the fluid and produces clouds of white smoke. The smoke is perfectly safe and does not affect breathing although it will set off some types of smoke detector. All machines have a variable output, normally on a remote control. The smoke dissipates after a period of time. Different fluids are available with different dissipation times. Please only use the fluid provided and never add water as this may damage the machine. Extra fluid is available for sale in litres and five litre containers. Note: Allow between ten and fifteen minutes for smoke machines to warm up to operating temperature
